12 Man Knights Stun Penrith + Counties Win the Ranfurly Shield | ShedLife NZ Sport Weekly Wrap

Jason Davis and Quentin Hill are back for another ShedLife NZ Sport Weekly Wrap, getting into the NRL finals, Bunnings NPC, Waikato Rugby, the Black Ferns, Heartland Championship, NZ Breakers, boxing, grassroots league and international rugby.

The Knights produced a huge performance against Penrith, playing part of the game with 12 men and booking a Grand Final meeting with the Roosters. We talk Nathan Cleary’s injury, Kalyn Ponga, Bradman Best and Newcastle’s turnaround from the wooden spoon to the biggest game of the season. Closer to home, Waikato ground out an important wet weather NPC win with Dylan Nel and Jerome Brown getting across the line, Cortez Ratima returning and Xavier Roe scoring his first try for Waikato. Next up is Tasman, with playoff positioning on the line.

We also look at the Black Ferns after their close game against England at Twickenham and ahead to their three test series against France, starting in Hamilton on October 17. Then there is the Ranfurly Shield. Counties Manukau stunned Northland with the final kick of the game to lift the Shield for the first time since 2013. Plus NPC and Heartland picks, the Breakers against Perth, Francis Waitai’s latest boxing update, grassroots league, Australia against the Springboks, the upcoming Bledisloe Cup tests and the Farah Palmer Cup semifinals.
