ShedLife NZ – Guest Participation Terms
These terms are just to make sure we’re on the same page when you come into the Shedlife NZ studio to film an episode.
Last updated: 23/09/2026
Kia ora, and welcome. We're stoked to have you on the ShedLife NZ Podcast.
Our goal is simple: a relaxed, honest conversation that helps you tell your story, share what you're building, and have a laugh along the way. We want to show you and your work in the best possible light. When you win, we win, and we want your episode to be something you're proud to share.
These terms make sure we're on the same page before you come into the studio to record.
Who we are
ShedLife NZ is produced by Jason Davis and is associated with Waikato Sheds.
The short version
You're welcome to plug your business, products, events and socials. Tell us what you want mentioned and we'll make sure it gets in.
Coming on the show doesn't mean you endorse us or our brands (see section 4).
We own the episode and have final say on the edit. If something comes up that worries you, whether during recording or after the episode goes live, just let us know.
How you accept these terms
We'll send you a link to these terms before your recording and ask you to confirm (a reply saying "yes" is fine). By confirming, or by taking part in the recording, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree or you're unsure about anything, let us know before recording starts.
1) Consent to record
You consent to being recorded on audio and/or video and photographed during your participation (the "Recording"), including your name, voice, likeness and performance.
2) We own the content
We own all rights in the Recording (raw and edited) and everything we create from it, including edits, clips, transcripts, captions, stills, thumbnails and quotes (together, the "Content").
3) The licence you give us
You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, edit, publish, distribute and promote the Content, in whole or in part, in any format, including podcast platforms, YouTube, websites, social media and advertising for the show.
4) No endorsement or implied affiliation
Your appearance does not mean you endorse ShedLife NZ, Waikato Sheds, or any of our other brands, products or services.
We won't say or imply that you sponsor, approve, partner with, or are formally affiliated with us unless we've agreed that separately in writing.
We may promote the episode using your name and likeness (e.g. "Featuring [Your Name]"). This promotes the podcast content and is not an endorsement.
We may include a disclaimer such as: "Guest views are their own and do not constitute endorsement of Waikato Sheds or any affiliated brands."
5) Editing and raising concerns
We handle all editing and have final editorial control over the episode, including titles, thumbnails and clips. We don't usually offer a preview before release.
If there's something you'd rather not have included, like personal information, something confidential, or a comment you'd like left out, tell us during or straight after recording and we'll do our best to cut it.
Once the episode is live, you can contact us about any factual error, legal issue or safety concern, and we'll deal with it under section 10.
6) Your responsibilities
You confirm that you have the right to take part and grant these permissions. You also confirm that you won't share anyone else's confidential information without permission, that what you say is true to the best of your knowledge (or clearly your honest opinion), and that you won't share content that infringes someone else's rights.
7) Payment
Unless agreed in writing, you're taking part voluntarily and won't receive a fee or royalties.
8) Collaborations and sponsorships
These terms cover guest appearances only. Paid partnerships, sponsorships, product features and cross-promotions are covered by a separate written agreement, which we'll put in place before any work begins. Interested? Hit the "Collaborate with us" button or email admin@shedlife.co.nz.
9) Release of claims
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release us from claims arising from our permitted use of the Content, except where we act unlawfully or with reckless disregard for the truth.
10) Removal and correction requests
We're not required to remove published Content. However, we'll review any request promptly and consider edits or takedowns where there's credible legal risk, a proven factual error about you or your business, or a serious safety concern.
11) Age
You must be 18 or over to agree to these terms. Guests under 18 can only take part if a parent or guardian gives written consent before recording.
12) Your privacy
We collect your name, contact details, recordings and images so we can organise, produce and promote your episode. When you contact us about collaborating, we use your details only to reply and discuss the idea. We don't sell your information. Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing admin@shedlife.co.nz.
13) Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and you submit to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
