Waikato’s 2026 NPC squad has officially been named.

Jason Davis and Quentin Hill head inside the Waikato Rugby season launch to meet the players and supporters preparing for another year in red, yellow and black.

They catch up with new Japanese signing Daiki Nakajima, James Tucker, Hamilton Burr and other members of the Waikato squad. The players discuss the new coaching group, their club rugby roots, returning from injury, earning game time and the matchups they are looking forward to most.

The episode also checks in with members of the Waikato FPC side as they prepare to chase a third straight title. There are also a few less serious questions about bench press numbers and who really has the best hair in the NPC.

Waikato opens its 2026 NPC campaign against Bay of Plenty as provincial rugby celebrates its 50th season. ShedlifeNZ Sports will be following the Mooloos throughout the season, with Jason and Quentin back every Monday evening to discuss the latest Waikato rugby action.
